Lieutenant Colonel Henry Dolberry

 Lieutenant Colonel Henry Dolberry Jr. graduated from Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History in 1997.  Shortly after graduation, 2nd Lieutenant Dolberry attended The Basic School (TBS) and then proceeded to Camp Johnson, North Carolina to attend the Personnel Officer’s Course.


After graduating the Personnel Officer’s Course, Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry served as the Battalion Adjutant for 1st Battalion, 5th Marines and as the Regimental Adjutant for 1st Marine Regiment from 1998- 2001.  While a member of the 1st Marine Division, Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry deployed to Okinawa in support of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) Special Operations Capable (SOC), and participated in Urban Warrior and the Advanced Warfighting Experiment (AWE) with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) Experimental (X).


Upon departing 1st Marines, Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry reported to Officer Candidates School (OCS), Quantico, Virginia.  From 2001 to 2002, he performed the duties as the General Military Studies Officer and Adjutant of OCS.  During the autumn of 2002, Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry conducted an interservice transfer to the United States Navy to begin flight training as a Student Naval Aviator.  During the spring of 2004, he was designated a Naval Aviator and graduated flight training with distinction and honors for superior academic and flight performance.


Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry began initial training in the SH-60B and graduated as a Pilot Qualified in Model (PQM) from Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light 41 in 2004.  In 2005, Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry conducted an interservice transfer back to the United States Marine Corps and began initial training in the AH-1W Super cobra.  Upon being designated a PQM, he was transferred to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 (HMLA- 367/SCARFACE).  While in SCARFACE, Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry conducted several combat deployments in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.  Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry served as the Schedule Writer, Ground Training Officer, Assistant Administration Officer, Future Operations Officer, Assistant Maintenance Officer, Maintenance Officer, Detachment Officer-In-Charge, Executive Officer, Air Boss and Rotary Wing Plans Officer while part of HMLA-367 and 3d Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Forward Deployed (FWD).


Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry departed 3d MAW and joined Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS), Marine Corps University during June of 2012.  He has served as a Faculty Advisor, the Amphibious Operations Division Head and the Chief Instructor of EWS.


Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Futenma during May of 2015 and assumed command during June of 2015.  



Lieutenant Colonel Dolberry’s decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Medal with Strike/Flight Numeral “10”, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three gold Stars in lieu of fourth award), the Navy Achievement Medal as well as several unit and deployment awards.
