MCAS Futenma - Leadership
Executive Officer, MCAS Futenma
Lt. Col. Jeremy Siegel

Lieutenant Colonel Siegel was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.  He was commissioned into the Marine Corps upon graduation from the University of Iowa in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

First Lieutenant Siegel was designated a Naval Aviator in October 2001 and reported to VMFAT-101, MCAS Miramar, CA for training in the F/A-18 and subsequent assignment to VMFA(AW)-224, MAG-31, MCAS Beaufort, SC in February 2003.  While assigned to VMFA(AW)-224, Captain Siegel completed a Western Pacific deployment and participated in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.  

In 2006, Captain Siegel attended Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS) in Quantico, VA and graduated with distinction in 2007.  After graduating from EWS, Capt Siegel deployed with 2d MAW FWD as an Air Tasking Order Development Officer in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.   He also augmented VMFA(AW)-121 and 225 as a combat flight lead.      

In 2008, Captain Siegel reported back to VMFA(AW)-224 and served as the Assistant Operations Officer and Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer. During this tour, Captain Siegel completed a Western Pacific deployment in 2009.

In 2010, Major Siegel was selected for resident Command and Staff College (CSC), where he earned a Master’s Degree in Military Studies in 2011. Following CSC, Major Siegel deployed to Kabul Afghanistan and served as Liaison Officer for II MEF to the ISAF Joint Command in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

In 2012, Major Siegel reported to VMFA-122 and completed his department head tour as the Operations Officer and Aircraft Maintenance Officer.  During this tour, he completed two Western Pacific deployments in 2012 and 2014.

In 2015, Major Siegel received orders to Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk, VA. Lieutenant Colonel Siegel served as the lead planner for amphibious exercises and Defense Support to Civil Authorities.

In 2017, Lieutenant Colonel Siegel received orders to MATSG-22 in Corpus Christi, TX as the Operations Officer.  During this tour, he instructed primary flight students in the T-6B and intermediate and advanced jet students in the T-45C.

In 2020, Lieutenant Colonel Siegel received orders to 1st MAW. He served as the Future Operations Officer, Deputy AC/S G-3, and augmented Magic and UDP squadrons as a UC-35 and F/A-18 pilot.

Currently, Lieutenant Colonel Siegel is the Executive Officer for MCAS Futenma.

Lieutenant Colonel Siegel’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (Strike/Flight Numeral 8), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
