Col. Peter Lee explains the history of Marine Corps Air Station Futenma to members of the Okinawa Prefecture Defense Association during an educational tour Oct. 22 on MCAS Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. Lee highlighted the Marines’ contribution to the Okinawa community as well as disaster relief efforts and operational capabilities of the air station in the Asia-Pacific region. After the presentation, Lee answered the members’ questions before they boarded a bus for a tour of the installation. Lee is the commanding officer of MCAS Futenma, Marine Corps Installations Pacific and a New Rochelle, N.Y., native.
